About Liz
I sang professionally as a classical singer for 15 years. During the 1990s voice scientists were discovering more information about the singing voice and how we sing. I was very interested in this and it led me to changing my career. I began to withdraw from a performing career to focus on teaching singing and started my private singing teaching practice in 1995. Teaching singers on a one-to-one basis continues to be both hugely enjoyable and a privilege for me.
My performing career started in the 1980s. A full member of EQUITY, I sang with the BBC Singers during the late 1980s.
As a soloist I travelled extensively in the UK and abroad. Special concerts included singing as soloist with the late Yehudi Menuhin conducting in the UK, France, Germany and Greece. Further solo appearances with the RSNO, the Welsh Chamber Orchestra, the Bournemouth Sinfonietta and many concerts in leading concert halls, including the South Bank and St John's Smith Square, London.
In opera, principal roles for English National Opera, Scottish Opera, the new D'Oyly Carte Opera and Music Theatre Wales. Abroad, for the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona; Opera de Nantes, France and at the Centre for the Performing Arts, Banff, Canada.
